Credit scoring is a system to help lenders make decisions and assess your application for credit. It's designed to predict how likely those lenders are to get their money back. It’s a consistent, accurate and fair way of assessing risk.

Knowing your credit score is really important, as your score will impact your ability to borrow money:
Higher credit scores typically mean you are more likely to be accepted for credit than lower scores
Lower credit scores could mean you may not be eligible for certain types of borrowing
